Intimate gatherings

Twelve people,one table

Intimate dinner table dressed with low cream flowers and taper candles

Close enough to be looked at properly. A handful of exceptional stems rather than many ordinary ones, arranged for a table people will sit at for five hours.

We can dress a home, a private dining room and a registry office within the same afternoon.

01

Made for close looking

At this distance every stem is visible, so every stem is chosen individually — nothing is filler.

02

Candlelight first

Flowers are placed around the light, not the other way round. Heights are set so faces stay warm and legible.

03

Quietly delivered

We arrive, place, adjust the linen, and leave before the first guest does. You never see the work.

01

The table

One low composition, or a loose line of small vessels down the centre. Built in the room itself so it answers the actual light rather than a photograph of it.

Row of bud vases with single stems along a marble mantelpiece
02

The small places

A mantel, a doorway, a windowsill, a bathroom shelf. The details nobody asks for and everybody remembers.

Small bouquet resting on a stone ledge in a quiet chapel
03

Elopements

Nine stems, tied with a single length of silk, and one small piece placed on the ledge where the light lands at ten in the morning.

Nine stems. It is the smallest thing we have ever made and the one we think about most.
